Biography
Co-founder of the Terra Incognita Project, aiming to complete three long-distance trails in the USA, forming the so-called “triple crown” of hiking. Triple Crown of Long-Distance Trails. In 2016, together with his companion Maćek Stromczyński, he successfully completed the Pacific Crest Trail (4,300 km) on the western coast of the United States. This achievement was nominated for the Traveler’s Award presented by National Geographic. In 2017, the adventurers from Częstochowa tackled another trail called the Appalachian Trail (3,500 km), hiking in the less common north-to-south direction. The idea of hiking the Appalachian Trail was recognized by the Gdynia “Colossus” committee, which awarded the hikers the prize named after Andrzej Zawada, in the form of a grant to realize their next travel idea. After a successful trek through the Appalachians, it was time for the Continental Divide Trail (5,000 km), which became the conquest of Grzegorz alone in 2018. In this way, the Polish traveler joined the elite group of around 400 people worldwide who managed to hike all three trails that make up the Triple Crown of Long-Distance Trails in the USA.
